HTC Touch Pro2 Will Be on AT&T October 18

htc-touch-pro-2_468According to Softpedia, the HTC Touch Pro2, aka the “Tilt 2” will be available on AT&T as of the 18th of October this year.

It is already available in the United States, first released by T Mobile, then Sprint and finally Verizon, but there are now rumours floating around that a fourth American provider, AT&T will be adding the Tilt2 to it’s offerings as early as October 18.

The theory behind AT&T not having launched the handset yet, while its three competitors all got in at the earliest possible time, is that it was biding its time and waiting in order to present the mobile phone to buyers with Windows Mobile 6.5 OS in place right from the beginning.

Due to it being available (shortly) on all four major US carriers, it is likely to out sell many previous Windows Mobile handsets as people who don’t want to switch companies or end contracts early and face an early termination fee will have their pick of networks, including the option to use their current sim card.

Verizon currently has the lowest price tag on the mobile phone itself, siting at US $199, although this might change when a fourth carrier is added, as it will some much tougher competition along with it.
