Windows Mobile has never truly been a great operating system but it is not a bad operating system either. Sure it has its flaws and slowdowns; admittedly, the OS does make navigation a little difficult, but that is totally missing the point of the features and functionalities that the OS can bring. It is no surprise that HTC chose the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system as the platform for the Touch 2. Ask any of the subscribers on HTC Touch 2 contracts and you will find that they are perfectly happy with the wonderful features of both the Touch 2 and its WinMo OS.

Sense and Windows Mobile

Navigating the HTC Touch 2 is easy thanks to the new version of the HTC Sense which incorporates access to many Windows Mobile features. Windows Mobile 6.5 by itself delivers all new features not present in previous versions. The long awaited WinMo application store is now accessible through the Marketplace feature. A newer version of Internet Explorer Mobile shows improved browsing capabilities (but still inferior to the Opera Mobile browser). The rest of WinMo’s old apps are still here including the ever useful Pocket Office. The updated Windows Media Player 10 now supports even more file formats too.

Touch 2 Specs

As you may have seen from other Touch2 reviews, this mobile phone has 2.8 inch QVGA touch screen, a 3.2 mega pixel camera, 512MB of RAM, and the usual spec you would expect from an HTC 3G smart phone. That means you will also get Bluetooth, A-GPS, microSD card support, WiFi, 3G HSDPA, and other features. It has been well over a month since this was launched last October 6, and there are plenty of good deals for this mobile phone if you are willing to make do with Windows Mobile.
