One of Taiwan’s mobile phone makers, HTC Corporation seems geared to enlarge its coasts of Google powered Mobile device. The company seems to be having preference for Google’s Android Operating system and looks geared to release some more devices with this Operating system. Even though it already has some highly appreciated devices with this OS, yet the company is not resting on its loins and is set to release some more.

In a list which was revealed on a leaked Android 2.1 ROM for the company’s HTC Hero Mobile phone. The devices were spotted and the said ROM was preloaded on it. There was also another ROM for download immediately after, which also possesses codename for HTC’s current and Android-powered mobile phones expected to be released in the future.

Some of the names that were seen include: Bravo, Bahamas, Dragon, DesireC, Dream, Espresso, Halo, HeroCT, HeroC, Hero Huangshan, Incredible, Legend, Memphis, Liberty, Paradise, PassionC, Passion, Sapphire and Supersonic. Some of the name displayed above are no longer news to some of us while some are just brand names.

We can also notice that the Dream and Hero which are included are already part of Android phones list whilst there is also huge preference to some rumoured phones like the Passion or Dragon. There are also some that are relatively unknown such as the Huangshan or Espresso. It is also worth stating that some familiar names were not present on the list and that may give some antagonist a case to put forth.

Nevertheless, enthusiasts will definite reiterate that the list justifies the existence of brand names like the Dragon/Passion not forgetting the likes of Sapphire, Dream and Desire which were released as Magic, T-Mobile G1 and Droid Eris.

There have been rumours flying round the internet that Mobile phone carrier, Verizon wireless is planning to release a brand new HTC mobile device which would be powered by the Android Operating system and showcase a 1GHz processor, nevertheless no concrete information supporting those claims have emerged until now. ‘HTC Dragon/Passion’ which is the name for the new device is gradually nearing its launch date, based on the information received from the HTC passion website where the mobile device was spotted.

Verizon recently stated “We don’t discuss phones that we don’t currently sell” when inquired about the device so one cannot really ascertain the authenticity of the website or in the information received therein. Verizon did not deny the likelihood of the device being a reality as the website discloses ‘coming holiday 2009’, there are serious indications that the said device could be released in the future.

There have been uncorroborated information about the HTC passion for some few months now, rearing its head during the Google’s Android Platform showcase and details of this device was release round about the internet detailing its features (as a 1Ghz Snapdragon powered Phone). Be that as it may, the details currently available for this device are limited but if the launch date is anything to go by, one may expect concrete information about this mobile piece pretty soon.

If the stories are to be believed, then The HTC Dragon/Passion should be released with Google’s recently launched Android 2.0 Operating System coupled with the HTC Sense navigation solution from the Taiwan manufacturer. The phone should definitely be able to considerably compete and stand side by side with the Window base HTC HD2 device.

If you crave more info about this device you can visit the HTC Passion website on htcpassion.com
