Looks like HTC is bringing out the big guns this year as they prepare for their next wave of Android smart phones.

The start of 2010 was pretty exciting for HTC. While the Nexus One did not carry the HTC brand, it was already a well established fact that they were the manufacturers behind the first Google phone. While the Nexus One did not exactly have a very successful run, it is obvious that the Taiwanese manufacturer has a good grasp of the Android operating system.

The real deal will come this March with the launch of the HTC Bravo –a device which we can consider as the precursor to the Nexus One. The Bravo was the first Android device to combine the 1GHz Snapdragon processor with a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen display –features pretty much identical to the Nexus One, but the Bravo also comes with a 5 mega pixel camera that can take 720p HD videos. It is also expected that when the Bravo launches the HTC Legend will be coming out as well. The HTC Legend is considered to be a successor the successful HTC Hero.

With reports stating that Motorola will be working on the next Google phone with the project Shadow device, HTC has been able to focus on its own lineup and reports are stating that the manufacturer’s next Android phone, the HTC Scorpion, will come with a 1.5GHz processor. No word yet on what kind of ARM based chip this will be, but many are assuming that it might be the upcoming dual core Snapdragon CPU.

Aside from Android phones, it has also been reported that HTC will be coming out with a Brew phone soon.

For more information and details on the upcoming HTC Scorpion and the 1.5GHz processor, go to Tech Radar.

Looks like HTC is planning to dominate the Android market this 2010. Despite the fact that the year started with the launch of the Google Nexus One, HTC is delivering a new Android smart phone with specs to match and a little something extra.

The HTC Bravo first popped up in the leaked HTC 2010 roadmap last year. It was not until later in December that were reports that the device will go into production. Now, it has already been confirmed that the Bravo would indeed be launching sometime this March or April. While Bravo is going up against the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 –their launch dates are pretty close together, it is impossible to not compare the Bravo with the Nexus One.

This is because HTC manufactured both mobile devices and that the two phones are closely similar in terms of specifications. Both the Bravo and the Nexus One use 1GHz Snapdragon processors and the latest Android OS –this means that the speed of both devices would be similar.

The screen on both phones is 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screens with multi touch, accelerometers and of course, high resolution displays. The Bravo moves a little ahead of the Nexus One with its camera. While both have 5 mega pixel snappers, only the Bravo has 720p HD video recording capabilities.

There is going to be one more advantage to the Bravo; it will be easier to purchase. Unlike the Nexus One which will only be available via the Google online store, the Bravo will be available as a standard device. Even better is the news that the Bravo will be selling at a lower price tag than the Google phone. Looks like the Android wars are about to break out this March.

Two HTC devices from the previously leaked HTC roadmap have resurfaced. While the HTC Bravo has already been confirmed for release for over a week now, the HTC Legend is making a quick reappearance on the news too.

The HTC Bravo is considered to be the most impressive phone in the entirety of HTC’s 2010 line up, the phone comes with high end hardware and the Android OS. The phone is run by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor so expect to see some really fast loading and booting speeds on this phone.

The screen is a nice big 3.7 inch capacitive AMOLED touch screen display –its excellent when you are viewing high resolution images and the 720p videos you record with the phone’s 5 mega pixel camera.

Yep, the Bravo comes with a 5 mega pixel snapper with autofocus, LED flash and the ability to record 720p HD videos. Expect to see this impressive 3G phone when it launches this March. For now, there are confirmed images of the device showing the stylish form factor of the casing.

The HTC Legend on the other hand has been out of the news for quite some time now. Just recently is has re-emerged with mostly the same specs but with a larger screen. On the leaked roadmap, the Legend was listed as having a 3.2 inch AMOLED touch screen. Now, reports say that the Legend will have a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen just like the Bravo.

This would put the two devices on mostly the same level if it were not for the fact that the Bravo would be using a 1GHz CPU while the Legend will be using a 600 MHz core. The Legend will not have HD video recording capabilities either.

Read more about the HTC Bravo and the HTC Legend from Phone Arena.

The devices shown in the leaked document featured some pretty impressive high end phones made for the Android and Windows Mobile operating systems. Of course, people are now wondering as to what happened to those devices. After all, it is already 2010, and with the Nexus One already out of HTC’s work desk, they have certainly started on the devices on the roadmap by now right?

First up is the HTC Bravo, this phone is the most impressive of all the devices in the list and yes, it is going to launch. Reports have stated that the phone would be released by March this year –giving the Nexus One a little breathing room. Specs wise, this device is much like a non-Google Nexus with the addition of HD video recording.

The Bravo is supposed to be followed by 4 more Android phones, the Legend, Buzz, Tide and Salsa. While each of the four devices is impressive, no news about them has been released. The Salsa might be sitting in the back burner with the HTC Espresso coming out –since both are keyboard bearing phones.

As for the three Windows Mobile phones, it is likely that the devices have been put on hold. Originally, the three devices were meant to be using Windows Mobile 6.5. With 6.5.3 Maldives already out and version 7 just lurking behind the corner, it makes sense that HTC would wait it out to make the device compatible with the latest version.

It has been reported that WinMo 7 will not be compatible with skinning; which HTC is fond of doing. The Photon, Trophy and Tera were supposed to use the TouchFlo UI on top of WinMo. If 7 will not let this, then the design of the mobile phones would have to take a revamp.

Could HTC be pulling our legs or is this a real leak? – Head for the news at Softpedia.

Without a doubt, the Google Android operating system has truly made its mark on the mobile phone industry. So far, the only OS that is even more used than the Android these days is the Apple iPhone, and there are those who would argue that if the iPhone had an iPhone-Android variant –it would do better than the original.

Anyway, with the XPERIA X10, Motorola Milestone and plenty of other Android devices coming up, it is no wonder that 2010 will be giving us a great big Android fest. HTC will certainly not be behind the times. Not only do they already have the HTC Hero (also, the Hero successor, the HTC Espresso), a recently leaked document shows that HTC has five more Android devices coming up.

They also have three promising Windows Mobile 6.5 devices, but nobody seems to give a hoot. So let’s talk about that later.

Anyway, leading the front of HTC’s new Androids is the HTC Bravo, this spectacular mobile phone brings to you an HD-ready 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen with a built in 5 mega pixel camera that can capture 720p videos. The phone also runs on the high speed Snapdragon 1 GHz processor.

Next are the HTC Buzz and HTC Legend phones. These sport 3.2 inch capacitive touch screens. The Legend also has an AMOLED screen while the Buzz has a standard TFT display. Like the Bravo, they also have 5 mega pixel cameras, but none have HD-quality video recording capabilities.

The HTC Tide and HTC Salsa sport 2.63 inch screens and 3.2 mega pixel cameras. It has not been stated if the phones will have auto-focus or LED flash (the pictures seem to show LED flash at least).

Rounding up the line are three business model WinMo phones. The HTC Photon is a basic touch screen smart phone, the Trophy sports a portrait keyboard and the Tera looks a lot like the N900. They all have business card scanners and use the HTC TouchFlo 3D UI.

We are running out of words here, we could say that “we-would-sell-my-soul-to-the-devil-for-these-phones”, but nothing really fits how awestruck we are with the leaked info about HTC’s line up of devices for next year.

Sure, we got a little excited with the HTC Espresso (the HTC Hero successor) and the HTC Touch.Brew (which many though would have been an Android phone), but that was yesterday’s news (literally); now we are looking at five high-end Android mobile phones that are planning to hold the constant gaze and adoration of Android phone lovers all over the world. Never mind the fact that Google themselves announced that they will have their own Android smart phone, unless it has specs that match the upcoming HTC Bravo, even Google will have a tough fight.

So what is it about the line-up that has us all so captivated; sheer technological advantage.

The upcoming HTC Bravo sports a 3.7 inch AMOLED HD-ready capacitive touch screen, a five mega pixel camera with 720p video recording capabilities and lastly, the Snapdragon 1GHz processor. Oh, did we forget to mention that this device just might have the Google Android 2.1 Flan OS? It is not included in the release info, but with the Hero already capable of running the new Android OS, it would be a pretty good assumption.

The HTC Legend also sports an AMOLED capacitive touch screen, though it’s a little smaller at 3.2 inches. This one shares similar specs with the HTC Buzz (3.2 inch QVGA capacitive touch screen) and their processors are not too far apart (Legend has 600 MHz, Buzz has 528 MHz).

On the lower end of the tech scale is the stylish Salsa and the Tide. These two sport 2.63 inch screens. The Salsa has a full QWERTY keyboard while the tide has a traditional keypad. Both devices are portrait oriented (Salsa has a nice wide screen).
